If I have two teeth pulled, can I still be activated for deployment within the United States?

Thank you for your question. While we can provide information, please note Ask the Experts does not replace professional care or guidance. We strongly encourage you to talk to your Medical Readiness NCO or unit commander about your situation.

You may still be able to deploy if your missing teeth do not affect your ability to perform your job functions. Your dentist will determine if you are orally fit and dentally ready for deployment. As a Guard Soldier, you are required to have an annual dental exam as part of your Periodic Health Assessment. You can check your medical readiness status on MEDPROS.

If you need assistance to maintain your dental health, there are a variety of options available.
